Don't Balance your Work-Life...Integrate it

The most sought after topics for High Performers in any field (sport, business, the arts or life) is BALANCE...between work and life, only to find ourselves staring straight at burn out, stress, and overwhelm.

What if I told you that maybe it's not about balance but rather about integration?

This came up in an Intensive Session recently and I shared it on my IG story.

From the poll - I was shocked that so many hadn't heard about Integration as an Option!

So I was inspired to write this blog on that very Topic!

Here Goes!!!

Coffee Analogy
Cream Integration...vs Balance

The concept of work-life balance has become somewhat of a buzzword. We strive to juggle our professional responsibilities with our personal lives, aiming for that 'perfect equilibrium' that seems just out of reach. But what if we shifted our perspective from attaining balance to an idea of Work-Life integration instead?

Achieving a perfect work-life balance is like trying to find a Unicorn - it sounds magical, but it's incredibly rare (or just the stuff of myths). The traditional notion of balance implies that work and life are two separate entities that need to be allocated equal time and energy. However, in reality, this separation often leads to more stress, guilt, and dissatisfaction...you know that slippery slope leads no where good, and fast!

Integration, on the other hand, advocates for a more holistic approach. Instead of drawing a line between work and personal life, it encourages intertwining the two in a way that promotes harmony and fulfillment.

Work-Life Integration offers a way out by fostering a personal and performance culture that values harmony, a connection with values and purpose.

You can therefore prioritize your well-being without compromising your success.

As you navigate your own balance of integration (see what I did there) in your life, remember that it's not about achieving a perfection but rather about embracing integration.

This is done by intertwining your professional aspirations with your personal values, so you can create a life that is not only successful but also fulfilling and sustainable!

Curious about how to be more integrated with your work and life?

I'm Here to help :)
