The air is crisp, leaves are turning, and there's a sense of change everywhere you look.
Unless you are in Florida or the Caribbean like I am right now...
As we step into the fall season, it’s not just nature that’s shedding its old skin; it’s a moment for us to reflect, reset, and rewrite our own narratives. It's the beginning of what I like to call The Plot Twist Season.
Every year, around this time I see how the last quarter can be a time of profound transformation for many. For those grappling with self-sabotage and performance anxiety, this season offers a unique chance to take control and flip the script. It’s about harnessing the energy of change and using it to propel yourself forward.
Just like trees prepare for winter by shedding leaves, you too can let go of what no longer serves you. This is your moment to challenge the patterns that hold you back and step into a new chapter of your life.
As we approach the end of the year, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by unfinished goals or lingering doubts. However, this is also a time ripe for growth and renewal.
Here are three things you can start doing today to activate your end of year PLOT TWIST
Mentally: Reframe Failure
Instead of viewing setbacks as reflections of your worth, try reframing them as valuable lessons. Each misstep is an opportunity to learn something new about yourself and your journey.
When you shift your perspective on failure, you begin to see it as part of the process rather than a dead end. This mental shift can significantly reduce performance anxiety and empower you to take risks.
Physically: Move Your Body with Intention
You don’t need an intense workout regimen; even a simple daily walk or stretching routine can work wonders. When you move intentionally, you send a message to your mind that you’re capable of progress.
Consider integrating short bursts of movement into your day—whether it's taking the stairs instead of the elevator or doing a few stretches while working from home. These small actions accumulate over time and reinforce your sense of agency.
Emotionally: Practice Self-Compassion
Acknowledge that it’s okay not to have all the answers right now.
Self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer a friend in times of struggle. When you cultivate this mindset, you create space for growth and healing.
Is your October spelled P-L-O-T * T-W-I-S-T (mine is)
October always offers a unique opportunity for us to rewrite our stories. By embracing change mentally, physically, and emotionally, we can close out this year stronger than ever before. Remember that every plot twist leads to new adventures.
I encourage you to take the three steps I suggested seriously to jumpstart your Plot Twist.
